Puncknowle
Shetland Sheepdogs
Hello My name is Sylvia Purchase. I bought my first sheltie puppy soon
after my Wedding in 1974, I took her to obedience classes and was soon going to competitions all over the place when I mated her I had two super dogs, Saida worked the classes for obedience and he helped me when I was teaching local classes of owners how to control there dogs.
The other dog Misty “Puncknowle of Dark Night”, I started taking to open shows and got hooked on travelling all over the country with him. He was the first dog I ever qualified for Crufts.
When I became ill and was diagnosed with MS in 1997 all showing stopped for some time because I was unable to travel anywhere.
In 2004 I knew I was missing having a sheltie of good quality to campaign with at very local shows when I was able. Through my friendship with Maureen Smith I met Sheila Martin, she had a bitch 'Shellthorn Oh La La' who started my line again and when I can't get to shows I can still mate and improve the line as I go along.

Who we are
My Husband Colin and I live in a small village 15 miles from Weymouth in Dorset. We do not sell our puppies, as show dogs, only as good quality dogs which meets the breed standard, but we hope at sometime may become show dogs in the future. To us the most important thing is the quality of the new home in which we place our dogs. Also I am a member of the Kennel Clubs Accredited Breeder Scheme.
